Direct Support Worker--Several Positions Available

Full Time with benefits and Part Time positions available. 
This Direct Support Worker position will assist and teach daily living skills to children and adults with intellectual ond other developmental disabilities in a variety of settings based out of our Downey Headquarters.  The successful candidate will be responsible for interacting with and providing a safe environment, including social and community support/activities, to the Individual(s) being supported.  

Duties include, but are not limited to:
·  Provide a safe environment by communicating procedures with Individual, advocates and visitors
·  Assist Individuals with a variety of daily living skills and other daily living activities
·  Encourage individual(s) to participate in counseling, social, recreational, vocational, and other activities identified in their support plans while promoting individual choice and decision making opportunities
·  Escort and transport individuals to community activities when assigned such as social activities and related errands
·  Take part in developing and implementing individualized support plans (ISP) for assigned Individuals and ensure directives are followed pursuant to state standards
·  Hourly wage based on position hired for and experience (Range is $8:00 – $9.50/hour)

Requirements

·  MUST have high school diploma or GED
·  MUST be at least 18 years of age
·  MUST have a current California driver’s license and clean Motor Vehicle Record
·  MUST pass background check
·  Experience helpful, but not required
·  Additional training provided to qualified applicants

Administrative Assistant

Full Time Position with benefits,
The Arc is seeking an experienced Administrative  Assistant to assist in all areas of administration. The successful candidate will be responsible handling phones, assisting visitors, writing correspondence, coordinating several schedules, developing reports, handling billing  and assisting various departments.  Must be comfortable interacting with people with disabilities. (School setting)

Case Manager/Advocate

Full Time Position with benefits,
The Arc’s Center for Human Rights is seeking a Case Manager/Advocate to assist individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities in need.  The successful candidate will be responsible for a caseload assigned by the Center’s Director.  The position of Case Manager/Advocate will address multiple issues with families to assist them in navigating  the developmental disability systems. 

Duties include, but are not limited to:
·  Assist families at a variety of meetings including IPPs, IEPs, etc..
·  Connect families with existing supports and services
·  Act as a referral source to assist a variety of disabilities and needs
